A beautiful helmet with a hemispherical iron skull, surmounted by the head of a bird with an open beak and a long neck whose base is worked to represent the bird's wings, engraved with small cartouches with floral motifs and gold borders all around, chanfrin with an anthropomorphic sun; everywhere gold-inlaid; with a band at the base featuring cartouches with the inscription in Arabic; on the front two plume-holders and a nosepiece; complete with mail neck-defense with simple close rings. Shield (diameter 47.4 cm) of convex circular form, in the centre embossed with an anthropomorphic sun with rays, surrounded by four flower-shaped studs, the whole surface finely engraved with floral motifs with cartouches and decorations in gold, the margin with a band featuring cartouches with inscriptions in Arabic with remains of silvering, the border with a riveted ring. Inside remains of original lining and four missing handle rings. Beautiful, elegant and rare set in good condition.
