Brento
length 33 cm.
Smoothbore, two-stage,squared and round, 12.5 mm al barrels with small frames at the girdle, one of the two with remains of a frame outlined in the square part. Beautiful Snaphaunce locks with semi-convex and chiselled relief plates featuring volutes and profiles, screws in the shape of masks; all in the style of the Negroni di Brento family; internally signed ‘Brento’; internal typical Snaphaunce-style boxed trigger mechanism. Full walnut stocks, one with a restored stock end, all with scroll carvings and frames with plant motifs. Beautiful brass mounts with chiselled silver inlays. On the back straps, beautiful cartouches with imperial eagles and comital crowns in silver. One retains the saddle hook on the counterplate. Original brass-tipped wooden ramrods and iron cartridge extractors.
