Round, rifled barrel with front sight and adjustable and foldaway rear sight, marked in two lines with patents up to 1887 at the back (clean bore, visible rifling). Mark of the caliber "44 Cal." on the left side. Frame with working mechanism (the extractor-block on the right side tends to come off). Without saddle ring. Lower tang with serial number "54xxx". Some pitting on the iron part, some areas with remains of antique browning. Wooden butt and fore-end, the latter also checkered.
