Replica of the legendary hoverboard (in the Italian version of the film it was called “volopattino”), one of the most iconic objects of the Back to the Future film trilogy, autographed by both protagonists of the saga, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd . The hoverboard is contained in its original box which has signs of wear.
In the film, Marty McFly travels to the future (1985) and discovers that people use these hoverboards to get around.
The Back to the Future hoverboard is a simple skateboard without wheels, which floats in the air thanks to an imaginary anti-gravity technology.
The movie doesn't explain exactly how the hoverboard works, but it appears to work through magnetism or electrostatic repulsion.
The hoverboard used in the films was an elaborate prop, made of fiberglass and plexiglass. For the flying scenes, the actor was hoisted on wires or attached to an invisible trolley.
