Kevin Eastman is an American cartoonist and editor, born May 30, 1962, in Springvale, Maine. He is best known as the co-creator, along with Peter Laird, of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles .
Eastman and Laird started Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 1984, initially as a self-published independent comic book. The four mutant turtles—Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo—trained by a master rat named Splinter, quickly became a global phenomenon.
The success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has led to a franchise that includes comics, animated series, films, video games, and merchandise. Eastman has played a key role in the development of the franchise, working as a writer, artist, and editor for many years.
