Information
Original production drawing of The Simpsons for episode 4 of the sixth season entitled “Itchy & Scratchy Land”, one of the most beautiful and famous of the entire series.
First broadcast in 1994, the episode has become one of the most beloved and quoted by fans of the series for its sharp satire of amusement parks and for its numerous gags related to the world of "Itchy & Scratchy", the famous violent cartoon that regularly appears in the show.
The episode follows the Simpson family as they go to "Itchy & Scratchy Land", an amusement park dedicated to the violent cartoon couple Itchy (the mouse) and Scratchy (the cat). However, things don't go as planned when a group of Itchy & Scratchy robots begin to malfunction and endanger the park's visitors. The Simpson family must then try to survive the onslaught of robots and save the day.
"Itchy & Scratchy Land" is a hilarious parody of amusement parks and their rides. The episode takes aim at the long lines, exorbitant prices, dangerous rides, and over-commercialization that often characterize these places. Through the adventures of the Simpson family, the episode explores in a humorous and amusing way the joys and frustrations of a visit to an amusement park.
As always, the "Itchy & Scratchy" sequences featured in the episode are extremely violent and over-the-top, with Itchy inflicting cruel torture on Scratchy in increasingly creative and gruesome ways . These sequences serve as a comedic and satirical counterpart to the episode's main plot and have become some of the most memorable and beloved by fans of the series.
