Dries Mertens (born 6 May 1987 in Leuven) is a Belgian footballer who plays as a forward for Galatasaray and the Belgian national team. He linked his career mainly to Napoli, where he played for 9 seasons and with whom he won two Italian Cups and an Italian Super Cup. He is the Neapolitan team's absolute goalscorer in all official competitions, in Serie A and in European competitions. With the Belgian national team he participated in three world championships (Brazil 2014, Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022) and two European championships (France 2016 and Europe 2020), obtaining third place in Russia 2018.
