JAP Base Set Icons: Nidoking & Hitmonlee (Expansion Pack 1996) The pinnacle of vintage Pokémon, this pair of holographic cards is from the inaugural 1996 print run, the dawn of global collecting. The cards are distinguished by their classic Japanese layout and "Old Back" back, universally recognized as cornerstones of the franchise. Ken Sugimori's artwork, combined with the brilliance typical of the first-generation Japanese holographic galaxy, gives these cards a superior aesthetic value compared to later Western editions.
