Vintage gelatin silver print
cm 22,6 x 18 | 8.9 x 7 in.
Photographer's credit stamp on the verso
After his first experiences in Venice, where he had founded the 'la Gondola' club, giving rise to a lively activity both as an organiser and as a photographer (of which the image of the boy at the window is a fine example), Paolo Monti embraced professionalism by moving to Milan. Here, among many commissions, he received the one to document the Pietà Rondanini, which he did not limit himself to a meticulous analysis but also left room for a personal interpretation.
