Ironic, irreverent, but always elegant in his citations of pop culture and beyond, Yasumasa Morimura is at the same time the protagonist of very accurate mise en scene that reconstruct movements, types, costumes as well as the photographer who portrays them. Although technically self-portraits, these photographs seem rather to fall into the typology of a sophisticated body art that loses all biting provocation and prefers instead to play with stereotypes.Contact
