Importante esponente della fotografia italiana del dopoguerra, animatore prima del Circolo Fotografico Milanese, poi dell’Unione Fotografica che a Palazzo Brera ospiterà nel 1954 la prima mostra della Fotografia Europea facendo conoscere agli italiani Cartier-Bresson e Doisneau, Pietro Donzelli ha realizzato raffinatissime ricerche di tipo sociale e di ampio respiro come Delta del Po.
