This photograph has particular significance in the career of Catania-based photographer Bongiorno because it is part of the series with which he won the European Kodak Award for Photography at the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie in 1989. The singularity of the shot, with the seascape framed by the girl's legs in the foreground, led to this photograph being used to promote the award. Contact
