Provenance

The Model
The Ferrari 512 TR is unveiled in 1992 at the Los Angeles motor show; this purebred sports car continues the evolution of the Ferrari models with the “vibrant” Testarossa name, the last one to carry this badge. The 512 TR is an evolution of the 1984 Ferrari Testarossa, that had impressed because of the very wide “hips”, hollowed by the famous side longitudinal grids that distinguish its design, and left unchanged in the lines of the 512 TR. The abbreviation 512 TR means "5" the capacity in liters of the engine, "12" the number of cylinders and "TR" the acronym of Testarossa. The engine remains the powerful 12-cylinder boxer and, as on the Testarossa, it maintains the 180° bank angle and the displacement of 4,943 cc. However, the new 113 G engine adopts the Bosch Motronic M 2.7 injection, and several other modifications, including the new pistons with related gain in the compression ratio (from 9.3:1 to 10:1), the crankshaft and the intake and exhaust manifolds. Also the chassis was subjected to numerous modifications, aimed at improving its torsional rigidity. The power reaches 428 hp (421 hp the American versions), almost 40 hp more than the previous Testarossa. It is a real supercar; the 512 TR reaches 314 Km/h and goes from 0-100 Km/h in just 4.8 seconds. The bottom of the car is created with particular aerodynamic studies, coming from the F92A, the Formula 1 car used for the 1992 world championship with Jean Alesi and Ivan Capelli. In the line, once again signed by Pininfarina, the 512 TR stands out compared to the Testarossa for the front grille with the light clusters recessed in the bodywork on the sides of the central grille and a prancing chrome-plated Ferrari’s horse in the center of the grille, also in the 512 TR the headlights are retractable. The 18-inch grooved alloy wheels have a new design, making more streamlined and modern the traditional five-pointed star and conceal the brake calipers with self-ventilating discs fitted with ABS. The interiors are renewed in the seats, in the design of the steering wheel and in some details of the finishing. 2280 units of 512 TR have been produced overall, until the 1994 end of production, when the last of the model's evolutions is put into production, however losing the name and the retractable headlights. From that year, the Ferrari F512 M will replace the last of the Testarossa.
The car

It has been constantly housed and serviced by the well-known Michelotto specialist; the invoices for these interventions are kept. The car has traveled a few kilometers: 39.562 km, to be precise. This mileage was followed by the last service and the car was no longer used. In its exceptional original black livery with red leather interiors, the car is in immaculate condition of bodywork, interiors and mechanics. The Ferrari 512 TR remains an icon of the 90s, thanks to its line, characterized by sides with longitudinal grids, which makes it always unique and peculiar over the years. This car, despite its age, can give strong emotions at the wheel, with the speedometer needle exceeding 300 km / h top speed accompanied by the 12-cylinder symphony. The Ferrari 512 TR chassis no.
