Original painting made by Robustelli in 2013, inspired by Ernest Hemingway's novel "The Old Man and the Sea." The work was exhibited in the exhibition "Santiago and His Thoughts," held at the Galleria Papel in Milan in 2019, and was published in the catalog of the same name on page 9 by Edizioni Papel. "For some years now, Giovanni Robustelli has enjoyed immersing himself in the material of fairy tales, offering highly valuable visual reinterpretations. With the notable difference, however, that his work is not an illustration of their content, but rather a dazzling reference to its suggestions, achieved through an authentic explosion of color. Therefore, Robustelli's work takes on the value not of a visualization of the tale, but rather of a visual counterpoint to its mythical connotations, especially through an explosive explosion of colors: warm, expressive, and engaging. These colors thus become a support for the story's symbolism. A comparison, valid for the eyes, on the symbolism of the relationship between the sun and the darkness, between good and evil, between day and night" (Gianni Brunoro). Signed on the front and signed and dated on the back.
