Original comic art made by Breccia for "El Idolo," page 8 of the second episode of Sherlock Time, first published in the pages of the Argentine magazine Hora Cero Extra n. 6 in 1959, and published in Italy with the title "La statuetta" in Lanciostory in 1978. Teaming up with Oesterheld for the first time, Breccia achieves the first major stylistic leap in his prolific career with Sherlock Time. The elderly antiques collector Eustachio Mendez is the protagonist of this story, which straddles science fiction and mystery, and it is to him that Breccia decides to entrust his likeness, the same one he will entrust to the old antiques dealer Ezra Winston just four years later in "Mort Cinder." The character of Ezra was born on these very pages, under an assumed name, but with his unmistakable face, that of his brilliant creator. A museum piece.
