Original illustration created in 1951 by Crepax for "The Fall of the House of Usher" by Edgar Allan Poe. This extremely rare work is part of a cycle of Poe's short stories made by Crepax when he was just 18. The Milanese master's fascination with the grotesque and the horrific is already clearly evident in this early work of extremely high technical and compositional quality, which led him to revisit Poe's short stories seventeen years later (1968) in the magazine Linus. The work comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by the Crepax Archives of Milan. Signed and dated.
