Preliminary study made by Wrightson for his masterpiece "Frankenstein," published by Marvel Comics in 1983. Wrightson created 47 black-and-white illustrations for Mary Shelley's famous novel. In his drawings, he attempted to recreate an antique style, inspired by the woodcuts and ironwork typical of the 19th century, and it took him approximately seven years to complete the work. Slight horizontal crease at the center. Signed.
