Original illustration made by Manara for the famous portfolio "Lockdown Heroes", published by Feltrinelli in 2020. A work resulting from Manara's civil commitment as a testimony to a historical moment, a tribute to the women on the front lines during the hardest days of the pandemic by an undisputed master of world comics. << The shock and anguished disbelief at the catastrophe that was looming made it impossible for me to continue my routine work: impossible to concentrate, find the necessary attention and serenity. I asked myself how I could be useful, as a designer, and how I could express gratitude and encouragement. So I drew these female figures one by one, simply to thank them and, perhaps, also a little hoping that we would remember them when everything was over. >> (Manara) Signed.
