Information
pencil, pastels and markers on thin cardboard
48 x 68 cm
Painting made by Pazienza on the occasion of his first personal exhibition held in Pescara at the Convergenze Gallery in 1975. This work entitled "While God's eye looks at you, do you look at my fiancée?" was published for the first time in the catalog of the exhibition "History of a convergence" published in Pescara in 1975 and recently in the volume "Convergenze" on page 48 in the Tutto Pazienza series n. 13 by Fandango Libri in 2016. A work of museum value, the embodiment of a fundamental chapter in the artistic development of Pazienza. Signed, dated and titled. « Before making comics, I painted denunciation pictures. But my paintings were bought by pharmacists who put them in their bedrooms. The fact that the painting continued to pulsate in that environment seemed to me not only a contradiction but also an enormous limitation. » (Andrea Pazienza).
