Information
99 x 125 cm
bears a non-coeval signature on the parapet AF Solimena
The painting offered in the lot finds a comparison with the prototype of Solimena, of which there are at least three versions: one in Salzburg, Residenzgalerie, from which it differs in some details, especially in the physiognomy and the clothes of Bathsheba and the maid on the left; one in the museum of Richmond in Virginia and one, closer to the example presented here, preserved in Aranujez, Royal Palace.
