According to Riccardo Lattuada, Giaquinto used the painting as a reference for the figure of John the Baptist in the dome of the church of San Nicola dei Lorenesi in Rome. This hypothesis is also supported by the sketch preserved in Ajaccio, at the Musée Fesch.Contact
