Provenance
Villa di Santa Sofia, property of Senator Giovanni Antonio Campostrini until his death in 1927, passed by inheritance to his wife Emma Campostrini Martinelli and later by descent to the current owners.
In the Palladian Villa of Santa Sofia, from which this pastel comes, a room was furnished with portraits traditionally assigned to Rosalba Carriera, which had belonged to the Senator's mother, Emilia Giusti del Giardino, the whose surname appears on the old collection label.
