Naples, in the new printing by Dom. Ant. Parrino and Michele Luigi Mutii, 1694. In 2°. 2 vols. Splendid copperplate frontispieces drawn by Iacobus del Po and engraved by F. de Grado, vignettes on the title page, title pages in red and black, 54 full-page portraits distributed throughout the two volumes, a copy with burnished edges in its period hardback, some leaves reddened and browned, foxing.
Specialist Notes
The Genio Bellicoso di Napoli (The Bellicose Genius of Naples) is a 1694 work written by Raffaele Maria Filamondo, which collects historical memoirs of famous Neapolitan captains who fought for the faith, the king, and the country. The work, divided into two parts, is splendidly enriched by 54 copper-engraved portraits, outside the text.
