Naples, Beltrano, 1640. Quarto. On the title page, a copper-engraved vignette, illustrated in copper with numerous coats of arms of noble families engraved in copper, browning, the first full-page leaf is missing, at the end of the volume, 2 leaves are missing, a non-antique sheet inserted at the end, browning and some stains, modern parchment binding on the spine with a gold title.
Specialist Notes
Ottavio Beltrano was born in Terranova and began his modest business as a printer in Cosenza around 1620, continuing it in Naples and in various cities of the Kingdom, before concluding it in Ancona around 1660. In 1640 he was still in Naples, where he published his major work, Breve descrizione del Regno di Napoli.
