Information
Naples, 1957. In folio. Cardboard folder with title printed on the front cover containing two double-sheets of text and five etchings by Lino Bianchi Barriviera (engraved field 27 x 38 cm), each protected by tissue paper and signed in pencil lower right and titled, signed, and dated in the plate lower left. Rare and very light foxing.
Specialist Notes
A unique edition, prized for the clarity and quality of the drawings and the press engraving technique on hand-made paper. Very few copies were printed, and any future edition was ruled out due to the enormous difficulties encountered. The plates included: Excavation of the necropolis at Pompeii; the Monte di Pietà, San Lorenzo Maggiore, the Capodimonte Museum, and the Mostra d'Oltremare building in Naples.
