Specialist Notes
A work printed in Naples by the jurist Agnello De Sarno, this edition contains one of the first vernacular treatises on forensic medicine, written by Dr. Orazio Greco (pp. 444-509). Greco scientifically discusses all the most common criminal injuries of the 17th century and outlines the tragic task of the forensic pathologist, who must determine the suspect's fitness to endure torture and the extent to which it can be tolerated.
