This spring sale will be wide-ranging, consisting of two auction sessions.
Tuesday 4 June will feature a curated selection of works by great Italian and international masters including Carlo Carrà, Ottone Rosai, Massimo Campigli, Giacomo Manzù, Antonio Ligabue, Lucio Fontana, and Gastone Novelli (with a mixed technique on canvas that has already been auctioned at Finarte in the 1980s in Piazzetta Bossi itself). Pop artists include Franco Angeli, Tano Festa, Mario Schifano, Salvo e Aldo Mondino, while international artists include Gerard Ernest Schneider, Victor Pasmore, Richard Lin, Hsiao Chin, Wifredo Lam and Serge Poliakoff.
In the sale on Wednesday 5, a private Milanese collection, assembled with precision and dedication from 1970 to the present day, will go up for auction. By choice over these fifty years, works by Italian artists have been collected - for the most part. The group includes works of abstract and conceptual art, analytical painting, kinetic art, programmed art and optical art, created from the 1960s onwards: each was carefully sought out, pursued because it made precise aesthetic sense within the artistic nucleus presented her.
