Slightly curved blade with cylindrical back, richly engraved with a dense pattern of racemes on half its length, on the third side the arms of the Savoy family, on the fourth side a large Savoy eagle, at the base a stamp with five-pointed star and the emblem of the Military Union of Rome and the marking "F. HÖRSTER SOLINGEN." Hilt with four iron loop-guards, long checkered cap, ebony grip. Old gilded threads sword knot with signs of use. Iron scabbard with two lugs.
