Original illustration made by Cambellotti for "Piccoli amici: la storia di Allegretto e Serenella" by Virgilio Brocchie, published by Mondadori in 1921. Cambellotti initially approached Art Nouveau, however accepting the purely original and pioneering aspects expressed by the ideas of William Morris , and then approached futurism. He, like Morris, saw a social, global, moralistic, pedagogical purpose in art in order to make it accessible to all and, like the English artist, he became the clear example of the artist-craftsman par excellence. Considered one of the most shining examples of Art Nouveau in Italy, Cambellotti was a painter, sculptor, ceramist, set designer, designer, architect and engraver, but it is perhaps in illustration that all the artistic instances he approached during his career converged . Artwork archived in the Cambellotti Archive with no. 4765 in 2013, a copy signed by Marco Cambellotti is attached. Signed.
