Original illustration made by Manara for the celebrated portfolio "Favole Libertine," published by Comicon Edizioni in 2011. In addition to the renowned fables with their high moral and symbolic value that we all know, the French author Jean de La Fontaine also wrote sonnets and licentious and libertine tales. In 2011, the great artist Milo Manara attempted to illustrate these poems, encapsulating the eroticism and voluptuousness inherent in these adult fairy tales in 12 splendid images. Thus, 12 illustrations come to life that manage to tell part of the story, thanks to the allure of the 17th-century setting and that special sensual tension born from the blend of voyeurism, bigotry, and lust concealed by draping curtains and ample skirts ready to be revealed. Signed.
