Auction details
Born in Venice in 1931, Frollo is considered among the world's leading exponents of comics and erotic illustration. From the early 1980s onwards, Il Maestro di Rialto abandoned comics to devote himself entirely to erotic illustration, putting on paper with watercolours, pencils and coloured pastels, an elegant eroticism that owes much to the retro atmospheres, the suggestions of the belle époque and the refined decadence of a Venice that no longer exists. Frollo died in his Venice in 2018, leaving to the new generations of cartoonists an artistic legacy that is unsurpassed to this day.

The sale will take place in October in the prestigious Roman headquarters of Finarte, for which our experts are selecting works from the early 1900s to today, ranging from Disney tables to superheroes Made in USA, from great international masters to erotic tables, from illustrations of the early twentieth century to the cinematographic sketches.
The works will be presented in the catalog with an accurate historical-critical filing, which tends to present and enhance the individual lots in the best possible way to ensure their visibility and the best sales result. The auction will be preceded by an exhibition in Rome, to offer collectors the opportunity to carefully examine all the lots, presented and enhanced by the splendid setting of our exhibition site.
