Anna Finocchi writes about it: "The painting, purchased by the father of the current owner on the advice of Giorgio Nicodemi, who attributed it to Faruffini and considered it a self-portrait of the painter, presents some elements that make the attribution convincing, such as the line of light that outlines the profile. It could be the "Study of a head, from life" exhibited in Brera in 1862"
