Obverse: Oblong polygonal coat of arms with raised triangles, two festoons descending at the sides, foliage above and below, surmounted by a tiara and crossed keys with a twisted cord and bow; Reverse: Portico of the Vatican Basilica seen partially foreshortened; in the center, the Holy Door with rays and clouds inside, two columns at the sides supporting the arched cymatium, and two pairs of pilasters on the wall; a pilgrim with a staff is about to enter the door, and two groups are also approaching, one of five pilgrims to the left and one of seven to the right. At the bottom, the coat of arms of the President of the Mint, Monsignor Giovanni Battista Costaguti.
