Obverse: Winged and haloed Lion of St. Mark, wearing a crown and ducal horn, seated with the Gospel between his paws; in the exergue, the initials MAB (Marc'Antonio Bon, farmer); - Reverse: seven-line inscription within a palm and laurel wreath.

Mount removed, but pleasant specimen with high reliefs.

With this osella, the D/ design diverges from the traditional depiction of Saint Mark enthroned handing the standard to the kneeling Doge. From 1710 onwards, the osella frequently took on the appearance of a commemorative medal while remaining the official currency of the Venetian Republic.

Purchased privately by Numismatica Umberto Busi of Bologna in 1944.
