Montenegro 2376. CNI 150. Paolucci II 363. Very rare.
Mount removed, but pleasant specimen with high reliefs.
BB/SPL.
With this osella, the D/ design diverges from the traditional depiction of Saint Mark enthroned handing the standard to the kneeling Doge. From 1710 onwards, the osella frequently took on the appearance of a commemorative medal while remaining the official currency of the Venetian Republic.
Provenance
Purchased privately by Numismatica Umberto Busi of Bologna in 1944.
