Specialist Notes
In thesetwo coupled pages, Crepax pays homage to the cinematic myth of King Kong, focusing, in particular, on the sexual symbolisms of the relationship betweenbeauty and the beast. Emmanuelle, who throughout the story demonstrates thewill to translate her every hidden desire into action, imagines without anyinhibition the concrete conclusion of the fascination manifested by Kong for thefemale protagonist of the famous film. Everything is represented by Crepax withan obsessive attention to detail and the reconstruction of the scene.
