Reference 4537 is considered amongst the rarest models in the Rolex chronograph family, being the very first chronograph of the brand with a three-counter movement housed in an Oyster case; launched in 1946, the model was manufactured for a very short period of time, and research shows that Rolex produced probably no more than 100 watches of this reference, in yellow gold, pink gold and in stainless steel. The present watch features an exceedingly rare 9 karat gold case, and to the best of our knowledge it is the second known example to have appeared on the market.
