Specialist Notes
The Speedmaster Apollo-Soyuz is the second limited edition ever released by Omega; it was introduced in 1976, to celebrate the historic Apollo-Soyuz project that took place on July 15, 1975, which has been the first space mission carried out cooperatively by the United States and the Soviet Union. This special model was issued in a limited edition of 500 pieces made specifically for the Italian market, and commercialized by the distributor De Marchi. This limited series features movement serial numbers ranging between 39.180.xxx and 39.181.xxx. Actually, the Apollo-Soyuz watches were not a commercial success, and the distributor did not reach the objective of selling all the pieces, deciding to export some of them to other countries with no limited edition number engraved (which was made locally in Italy), such as the present watch.
