Conditions of Sale
The Asian Art department handles goods from China, Japan and Southeast Asia such as porcelain, bronzes, jades, corals, wooden sculptures, fabrics, paintings and prints.
The Asian Art market is booming, fuelled by an increasing demand from both Asian and international collectors. This interest focuses on works of art and decorative objects of Oriental origin, which have become symbols of prestige and refinement. In addition to the passion of collectors, the sector also owes its development to technological innovation, which has made it possible to participate in auctions from anywhere in the world, also thanks to the most advanced online auction platforms.
The Oriental Art Department embraces a wide range of traditions, including Japanese art and antiques, Buddhist and Indian art, Chinese antiques and art, and South East Asian art.
The international record for the sale of a single plate by Master Wang Qi 王琦 (1884-1937), one of the most talented porcelain painters of the Chinese literary school of the Republic period (1912-1949), is worth mentioning.
The Department is available to appraise individual works or entire collections for inclusion in our auctions.
