Rare and beautiful set consisting of helmet, breast-plate and back-plate. The former with iron skull provided with crest featuring the olive with the crowned monogram "U"; lion-head muzzle with original black horsehair; radial-pattern, chin-straps with scales, large round cheek-pieces with star in relief, flower frieze and plume holder also of gilt brass; German silver frontal star; interior with dark leather visors and sweat-bands worked in segments with stitching, red plume used by trumpeters. Breast-plate and back-plate made of polished iron, well-shaped, complete with golden scaled pauldrons. On the front a golden radial-pattern surmounted by a German silver star surmounted by the crowned "U" for King Umberto I. Along the borders the golden rosettes with the typical daisy motif. Complete with red and silver cotton harness, leather belt with brass buckle and old blue officer's sash with fringe pendants.
