Round, rifled, 20" barrel, provided with foresight and with a folding, adjustable rear sight, featuring only part of the dorsal marking, the calibre marking on the left (“44 Cal.”) is visible. Clean bore, visible rifling, some light pitting inside. Two barrel brackets, one with loop. Remains of frame with traces of horse rampant, lower tang totally unnumbered, never engraved, featuring mark "S". Smooth butt, checkered fore-end, both of walnut, with signs of use and age. Working mechanism. Pump loading system safety lock located beside the trigger guard. Blueing (period?). Sling swivel.
