Specialist Notes

Tendentse is a project and a production brand born in 1985 on the initiative of Ettore Sottsass Jr and other designers. The purpose was to create handcrafted objects, largely made of ceramic, with an important emotional and symbolic content, in contrast to the exclusive focus on functionality that characterized the industrial design of the period. The items were often created in limited editions, enhanced the craftsmanship and uniqueness of each product. In 1989, the Tendentse brand was acquired by Alessi edition, which continued for a short period in the production of some items, until the definitive interruption in 1992
