Preliminary cover made by Magnus for the publication in episodes of "The 110 Pills" in the magazine Totem Magazine in 1985, a work later used as the cover for the volume "110 Pills: storyboard" by Edizioni REM in 2000. Among the most iconic works of the entire production of the Bolognese master; his Hsi Men, also used by Alessandro Editore for the cover of the complete reprint of the work in 2006, is the protagonist of this masterpiece taken from a 16th century Chinese erotic novel. The story tells of an Indian monk who gives Hsi Men 110 aphrodisiac pills to be used no more than one per month, who is not listened to and Hsi Men abandons himself to a life of voluptuousness that consumes him in a few months. From the long Chinese novel of more than 800 pages, Magnus summarizes the lifestyle of Hsi Men's family and describes in detail the most erotic parts; in 46 pages he creates an immortal comic book published all over the world. It is fascinating to note the reflections that Magnus himself made in his autographed instructions addressed to the publisher: << The sketch is almost more beautiful than the executive, it often happens. >> Signed.
