Specialist Notes
The Autobianchi 500 Giardiniera was the version built by Autobianchi of the Fiat Nuova 500 Giardiniera, whose assembly was transferred to the Desio house starting from the last months of 1967. Initially the Giardiniera was produced together with its more elegant derivative, the Bianchina Panoramica, which came out of the list in 1969. The doors, unlike the sedan, will always remain with "suicide" opening (ie hinged behind), the Autobianchi Giardiniera adopted black air intake grilles (instead of steel color) and the rear-view mirror external. The front frieze was also changed. The rear side windows, from sliding in two pieces, became compass opening, in a single piece. This “brick” red specimen, still with its black license plates from the province of Alexandria is an excellent specimen of this micro-station wagon.
