On the frontispiece, an illustrated copper-engraved plate, an illustrated vignette on the title page, numerous figures of statues and coins, small woodworm holes, stains, contemporary brown leather binding, gold-impressed decorations on the spine, losses and defects.

ORIGINAL EDITION of this work by the Lyon physician and art lover, Spon (1647-1685), composed of 31 dissertations on the medals, bas-reliefs, statues and ancient inscriptions that he encountered during his travels to Rome, Venice, Dalmatia, the islands of the Archipelago, Constantinople, Patras, Delphi, Thebes.
