Elegant allegorical illustrated frontispiece coloured by Apostool, 1 engraved map, 28 full-page engraved and hand-coloured plates, numerous black and white illustrations in the text, green morocco binding signed “The Hampstead bindery”, 5-ribbed spine, gilt title and author in the compartments, gilt upper edge, spine discoloured. § Together in the lot Bury, Charlotte, The great sanctuaries of Tuscany, London, John Murray, 1833. In 2vo oblong. Frontispiece engraved by Landseer, plate with portrait of Lady Bury, 6 plates engraved in aquatint by Thomas Lupton from drawings by Bury, small tear on the title page, browning and water stains, original brown cloth binding, leather label with gilt title on the front cover, detached front cover, missing back cover, losses on the spine, defects. Bookplate glued to the inside cover.
