Vienna, per Ioannem Singrenium. Expensis uero Leonhardi & Luce Alantse fratrum, 1517. In 4°. Title page framed by cherubs and plant motifs, woodcut initials, printer's device at the end. Half-leather binding with corners, marbled boards, spine with author, title, year, and gilt decorations. Light browning.
Specialist Notes
Justin devoted himself to extracting from the Historiae Philippicae of Pompeius Trogus, a Roman writer of the Augustan period, what he considered noteworthy and useful for reading and moral education. More interesting for its anecdotal rather than historical content, the book was widely distributed in late Roman times.
