Paper manuscript from the first half of the seventeenth century, 340 x 210 mm., leaves [1], 265 pages (of which 12 blank), humanistic chancery script, clear and elegant with two octaves per page, reference at the end of the page, frontispiece in capital letters enclosed in a triple-line frame, marginal foxing on some leaves, contemporary full parchment binding with title on the spine.
Specialist Notes
This is a fine copy of Lippi's famous masterpiece, almost certainly preceding the first printed edition which appeared in 1676 (Florence, GTRossi).
