French playwright (Paris 1791 - Paris 1861). A playwright gifted with virtuosic plot construction and a creator of engaging and engaging theatre, he gained the favor of European audiences in 1815. He employed numerous collaborators; his repertoire includes around four hundred works, including dramas, comedies, ballets, vaudevilles, comic jests, and opera librettos.
