August 1969 saw the introduction of the new range of BMW motorcycles, called the /5 series. Especially in the 75 (750 cc) version which introduced a pair of innovative Bing vacuum carburetors, it was a worldwide success and definitively established BMW as a reference in touring motorcycles, for comfort and reliability.
