Information

Autographed and signed letter, 150x70 mm, with a text that quotes: "Twenty-three days. Go bravely, good people. There is no shortage of men of twenty. You want peace, brotherhood and love. You are answered with hatred; you tell the truth, you are slandered; be a sign of a torch. Be a sign of a dagger. I pay you my compliments. Victor Hugo"

This note has an encouraging and combative tone, probably addressed to young idealists, activists or revolutionaries. The reference to "twenty-three days" could allude to a specific period of struggle or resistance. Hugo exhorts them to courage, praising their ideals of peace, love and truth, despite being attacked with hatred and slander.
